FAQ
Whenever I have a question, I just go to my professor during office hours or ask my friends in class online. So why do I need Nfoshare then?
That's great but will your professor be available anytime or respond fast in time? Will your friends know the answer to every question? The sheer potential of crowd-sourcing is undeniable and if you can tag, store and search all the questions, their answers and study tips posted by your classmates all in one place, think of how powerful a resource it can be.
That's what we do. We just connect the right people, it's then up to you and your class to really leverage this platform to help you study better!
Why not use Google or Wikipedia to get information I need?
Definitely use those. Nfoshare is an additional tool that connects those tools too but you are getting it with personalized answers from people you can trust and you know. We are adding a social element to your studying so you never feel like your studying alone.
Why is this better than Sakai?
1. Students study with Facebook on all the time. If your logged into Facebook, your logged into ours.
2. You can get notified by email everytime someone answers your question or asks a question from your class.
3. You can rate each other's answers/comments
4. You can update your Facebook status with it to get more students to answer it.
5. Sakai is controlled by professors and it does a whole bunch of stuff. We do online conversations for students and we do it the best
How is this different from a forum?
We connect your questions specifically to people related to your class so that the right people respond.
What about cheating?
We just provide a platform for people to converse. We don't believe people will use this to cheat as everyone can see who wrote what, even the Professors and TAs. At same time we can't control what people write but if someone writes something really inappropriate or breaks any legal law and is brought to our attention, we will disable that person's account and content.
I don't want to type the whole math equation/chemical reaction using your textbox options. It takes too long. What else can I do?
No worries! There are two options
Option 1: Type it on Microsoft Word. Do a Print Screen and copy it onto Paint. Then save it as a JPEG file and upload it using the Image option on the textbox.
Option 2: Write it or draw it on a piece of paper. Take a picture with your cellphone and email it to yourself. Save it on your computer and upload it using the Image option on the textbox.
If I post a question in one class, will that question show up in the same class with another professor?
Yes it will but not at the top of the question stack for that class. All questions/study tips are separated by class and professor tag. It will first display all questions/study tips related to that class and professor.
Once it's done displaying all of those, then right below it will start showing all questions related to that class, and after that, all questions related to that professor, and finally all questions related to that major
After I clicked Post on an answer I typed, it disappeared and brought me to the home page and I was logged out. What just happened?
You might have left your accout idle so as per Facebook's policy, they will log you out so what you have to do is refresh the page if you think you have been away from the site too long, log in and then answer the question.
How do I delete a question, study tip or an answer I posted?
In the left column, go to My Questions for questions or study tips you posted. Go to My Answers for the answers you posted. You will see the Delete options there.
